How to add gen.xyz Domain in Blogger.com: .xyz domains are becoming popular day by day as it’s a top-level domain and cheaper than other TLD domains. The official website of the .xyz domain is gen.xyz. You can even buy .xyz from various platforms like GoDaddy, NameCheap. etc.
If you have purchased a .xyz domain from gen.xyz and you want to add this domain in your blogger.com as a custom domain, then you’ve landed on the right page. In this blog post, I’m going to share how to add gen.xyz Domain in blogger.com.
How to add gen.xyz Domain in Blogger.com
Follow these steps to add gen.xyz Domain in Blogger.com.
Log in to your blogger.com and you will see the new interface of blogger.com. Here I’m sticking with the new interface, you can even revert back to the previous interface if you wish so.
If you’ve multiple blogs published in this account, choose the desired one from the top drop-down menu on what you wish to add your .xyz domain.
Click on the Settings and then from the settings’ menu, click on Custom domain.
Now add your domain name with www and click to save it. Don’t add without www, in fact you will get an error message.
In the next pop-up window it will ask you to verify your domain.
You need to add these two CNAMES on your gen.xyz domain’s DNS settings to verify your domain ownership. But it’s kind of different in gen.xyz to configure the DNS settings than other domain websites. In order to do that, sign in to your gen.xyz account.
Scroll down a little bit on the next page after you log in, and you will find a section named My Domains. Here you will see a list of domains you purchased from gen.xyz. In my case, I’ve just one domain purchased. So, here all you need to click on the Manage to configure this domain.
On the manage domain section, scroll down a little bit until you find the Nameservers section. Here you will see, by default, it is set to custom name servers, and Manage DNS is totally not clickable. To make it clickable, all you just need to click on Use default nameservers to make it checked. That’s it, now the Manage DNS will be clickable.
Now just click on Manage DNS. As soon as you will click on Manage DNS settings, the name servers will be saved and then it will take you to the next page, where you can add and/or configure DNS records on that domain.
Now here, you need to add those two CNAMES from blogger.com to verify your domain ownership. To proceed for this, add the first CNAME on the first row which is here blanked by default. Add WWW on the Host Name and Select Record Type to CNAME and add ghs.google.com on the Address tab.
Similarly add the second CNAME by clicking New record and then save changes.
One thing here to make it simple for you, in blogger they termed the Host Name as just Name and the destination as Address as compared to gen.xyz. You don’t need to be confused with that. And also you don’t need to add anything on the port. You can’t be able to add any number here anyway. So just leave it as it was.
You have successfully added these two CNAMES on your gen.xyz domain. Now you need to go back to your blogger.com and click save to complete the domain verification process.
Now you’ll get a notification that the settings updated.
Now you will see that we have successfully added our .xyz custom domain on blogger.com. And one more thing here, don’t forget to enable redirection. Otherwise, if you try to access your URL with www it won’t gonna open up. So for that, you need to turn this redirection setting on.
In this blog post, I have shown you how to add gen.xyz domain in blogger.com. If you stuck at any point while doing these steps you ask me through a comment.
And one more thing, the .xyz domain that you just added on your blogger.com may take a little amount of time to function. Here you don’t need to be tensed if it’s saying, the site can’t be access or something.
I hope this blog post was beneficial to you. Cheers : )
